Create sitemaps, wireframes, metadata and functional specifications for fordvehicles.com, Ford business-to-business applications, e-commerce and SYNC websites.

Visualize design interactions with prototyping tools such as Axure.

Customize information for Search Engine Optimization.

Participate in user research and usability test planning.

Work with clients to understand their business models and goals and help define strategy, content, and features for design of web-based applications.

Create formal documentation, including use cases and wireframes, which serve as the primary source for the development team to create the applications.

Educate management and development staff in the principles of information architecture, including UML documentation and the principles of client interviews to gather requirements.


Web Manager / Designer Sep 2006 – Present

Ojibwe.net

Provide technical leadership and web management for www.ojibwe.net. The focus of this website project is to preserve the first language of Michigan. Anishinaabemowin is the language of the Three Fires People of Michigan (Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi).

Create and maintain all aspects of website design, development and implementation including audio and video editing, WordPress and domain management and content strategy.

Through this work I have recently co-authored and published an article entitled “Waasamodibaajibiigemaazoying: Bright Lines of Story in Song” published in the Studies in American Indian Literatures Journal. Volume 29. Number 1. Spring 2017.


Information Architect/Developer Oct 2003 – April 2005

The University of Michigan Center for Health Communications Research

Developed applications and systems to support research on the use of information technology as a way to provide better health information to the public.

Designed information architecture driving web applications. This included wireframes and UML use cases.

Acted as a team developer to develop open source tailoring tools for web and print.

Created and maintained a web-based content management system using open source software for internal and external project use.

Washtenaw County

Responsible for internet and intranet application design and development for Washtenaw County departments and partnerships.

Gathered requirements, performed creative design, designed database architecture, programmed, tested and implemented.

Fry Multimedia

Responsible for implementing front-end designs and programming navigational and other site elements for e-commerce web sites.

Worked with the Web Production team to develop and utilize HTML/CSS standards.

Created and modified graphics essential for site building.

Developed tools to administer and maintain the ICLE site.

Created statistical software for the purpose of tracking advertisements.

Developed and maintained database of Michigan appellate opinions.

Held leading role in complete web redesign to incorporate e-commerce, an updated look and feel and information architecture.


Computer Programmer Sept 1995 – Jul 1997

H-Net, Humanities and Social Sciences Online

Developed an initial browseable Gopher system of LISTSERV data and then subsequently completely re-engineered this system into HTML.

Created statistical software for the purpose of tracking advertisements.

Acted as a liaison for editors of multiple H-Net LISTSERV communities to assist them in the management of their LISTSERV and accompanying web site.

Worked as part of a team of developers to program online searchable book review and job databases as well as an online project management system.
